7. Organization of work, adoption of the agenda and allocation of items
I now invite the attention of the Assembly to the report of the Fifth Committee under sub-item (a) of agenda item 115, entitled “Appointment of members of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions”, contained in document A/71/589/Add.1.
In order for the Assembly to consider the report of the Fifth Committee, it will be necessary to reopen consideration of sub-item (a) of agenda item 115.
May I take it that it is the wish of the General Assembly to reopen consideration of sub-item (a) of agenda item 115 and proceed immediately to its consideration?
It was so decided.
Accordingly, the General Assembly shall now resume consideration of sub-item (a) of agenda item 115.
115. Appointments to fill vacancies in subsidiary organs and other appointments (a) Appointment of members of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions Report of the Fifth Committee (A/71/589/Add.1)
The General Assembly will now consider the report of the Fifth Committee (A/71/589/Add.1), concerning a vacancy in the membership of the Committee as a result of the resignation of Mr. Eihab Omaish of Jordan.
In paragraph 3 of the report, the Fifth Committee recommends that the General Assembly appoint Mr. Mutaz Hyassat of Jordan as a member of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, for a term of office beginning on 8 March 2017 and ending on 31 December 2018.
May I take it that it is the wish of the Assembly to appoint Mr. Mutaz Hyassat as a member of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, for a term of office beginning on 8 March 2017 and ending on 31 December 2018?
It was so decided.
The General Assembly has thus concluded this stage of its consideration of sub-item (a) of agenda item 115.
