The meeting was called to order at 10.15 a.m.
115. Appointments to fill vacancies in subsidiary organs and other appointments (a) Appointment of members of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions Report of the Fifth Committee (A/71/589/Add.2)
In paragraph 3 of its report, the Fifth Committee recommends that the General Assembly appoint Mr. Olivier Myard of France as a member of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, for a term of office beginning on 11 May 2017 and ending on 31 December 2019.
May I take it that it is the wish of the Assembly to appoint Mr. Olivier Myard as a member of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, for a term of office beginning on 11 May 2017 and ending on 31 December 2019?
It was so decided.
The General Assembly has thus concluded this stage of its consideration of sub-item (a) of agenda item 115.
(b) Appointment of members of the Committee on
Contributions (A/71/590/Add.2)
In paragraph 3 of its report, the Fifth Committee recommends that the General Assembly appoint Ms. Zhang Wei of China as a member of the Committee on Contributions, for a term of office beginning on 11 May 2017 and ending on 31 December 2017.
May I take it that it is the wish of the Assembly to appoint Ms. Zhang Wei as a member of the Committee on Contributions for a term of office beginning on 11 May 2017 and ending on 31 December 2017?
It was so decided.
The Assembly has thus concluded this stage of its consideration of sub-item (b) of agenda item 115.
7. Organization of work, adoption of the agenda and allocation of items
I now invite the attention of the Assembly to the report of the Fifth Committee submitted under sub-item (d) of agenda item 115, entitled “Appointment of members of the International Civil Service Commission”, as contained in document A/71/592/Add.1.
In order for the Assembly to consider the report of the Fifth Committee, it will be necessary to reopen
the Assembly’s consideration of sub-item (d) of agenda item 115.
May I take it that it is the wish of the General Assembly to reopen its consideration of sub-item (d) of agenda item 115 and proceed immediately to its consideration?

In paragraph 3 of its report, the Fifth Committee recommends that the General
Assembly appoint Mr. Vladimir Storozhev of the Russian Federation as a member of the International Civil Service Commission, for a term of office beginning on 11 May 2017 and ending on 31 December 2020.
May I take it that it is the wish of the Assembly to appoint Mr. Vladimir Storozhev as a member of the International Civil Service Commission, for a term of office beginning on 11 May 2017 and ending on 31 December 2020?
It was so decided.
