The President on behalf of members of the Council and agreed not to press their requests on this occasion [Spanish] #111945
I received requests to participate in the meeting. Those making the requests kindly responded to my appeal on behalf of the members of the Council and agreed not to press their requests on this occasion, without prejudice to their right to request to participate in future meetings. The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on the agenda. The Security Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Operation in Cyprus, document S/25912 and Add.1. Members of the Council also have before them document S/25927, which contains the text of a draft resolution prepared in the course of the Council's prior consultations. It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution before it. Unless I hear any objection, I shall now put the draft resolution to the vote. There being no objection, it is so decided. : A vote was taken bv show of hands. There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has therefore been adopted unanimously as resol.ution 839 (1993). The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on the agenda. / T&e meetins rose at 12.55 P.m.
