At the invitation of the President, Mr. Prica (Bosnia and Herzegovina) took a seat at the Council table; the representatives of the other aforementioned countries took the seats reserved for them at the side of the Council Chamber.
The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them document S/2006/900, which contains the text of a draft resolution prepared in the course of the Council’s prior consultations. I wish to draw the attention of the members of the Council to document S/2006/810, containing a letter dated 12 October 2006 from the Secretary-General transmitting the thirtieth report on the implementation of the Peace Agreement on Bosnia and Herzegovina. I also wish to draw attention to document S/2006/809, containing a letter dated 12 October 2006 from the Secretary-General, transmitting the seventh report on the activities of the European Union military mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution. Unless I hear any objection, I shall put the draft resolution to the vote now. There being no objection, it is so decided.
A vote was taken by show of hands.
There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 1722 (2006). The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Security Council will remain seized of the matter.
