S/PV.5578 Security Council

I have the great pleasure to present the draft annual report of the Security Council for the period 1 August 2005 to 31 July 2006, to be submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to Article 24, paragraph 3, and Article 15, paragraph 1, of the Charter of the United Nations. The factual information contained in the draft report before the Council was prepared by the Secretariat in accordance with the provisions of the note by the President of the Security Council of 22 May 2002, contained in document S/2002/199, and now incorporated in the note by the President of 19 July 2006, contained in document S/2006/507. The draft report before the Council provides a guide to the activities of the Council in a concise and comprehensive manner. Of particular interest is the introduction to the report, which was prepared by the delegation of France. The Secretariat wishes to express its appreciation for the introduction by the delegation of France.

May I take it that the draft report is adopted by the Council? There being no objection, it is so decided. This decision will be reflected in a note by the President of the Security Council to be issued as document S/2006/942. The Security Council has thus concluded its consideration of the item on its agenda.
