At the invitation of the President, Mr. Zoumara (Central African Republic) took a seat at the Council table.
On behalf of the Council, I extend a warm welcome to His Excellency Mr. Come Zoumara, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic.
At the invitation of the President, Mr. Allam-Mi (Chad) took a seat at the Council table.

Mr. Ahmad Allam-Mi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chad.
The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations.
Members of the Council have before them document S/2007/563, which contains the text of a draft resolution prepared in the course of the Council’s prior consultations. Members of the Council also have before them document S/2007/488, which contains the report of the Secretary-General on Chad and the Central African Republic.
It is my understanding that the Security Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution (S/2007/563) before it. If I hear no objection, I shall now put the draft resolution to the vote.
There being no objection, it is so decided.
A vote was taken by show of hands.
There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 1778 (2007).
The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Council will remain seized of the matter.
