Adoption of the agenda

The agenda was adopted.

Threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts

The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. Members of the Council have before them documents S/2014/409 and S/2014/408, each of which contains the text of a draft resolution. It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolutions before it. I shall first put to the vote the draft resolution contained in document S/2014/409, submitted by Australia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America and France.
A vote was taken by a show of hands.
There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 2160 (2014). I shall now put to the vote the draft resolution contained in document S/2014/408, submitted by Australia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America and France.
A vote was taken by a show of hands.
There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 2161 (2014). The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda.
