NEW YORK.
1 havealreadycommunicated ta this Council, in my four reports relating to developments affectingthe Yemen situation, my conception of the measures involving United Nations action which might be taken in fulfilment of the terms of disengagement accepted by the parties. These measures, in the form, of a FnitedNations opservation function, havebGen carefully studied, and though the physical conditions in the area are rugged, they are considered feasible within the scope indicat8d.
'7: 4-s 1 have already reported ta the Courreil, there are at this tiIlle no .financial implications for the Uniteq Nations involvedin the pr6posed observation operation, in:view of the fact that the Governments of '8audi Arabia ànd the United Arab Republichave agreed to defray the 'expense of the operation over a period of two mOnths.
8. In addition to this, I think that 1 need only say that General von Horn, is alerted and is ready te proceed to the ar(:)[1 with elements of an advance party on, twenty-four hours' notice. Reports reaching m(:) recently underscore .the growing urgency of the need for the United Nations observation. operation.
I am sure that the memœrs of the Council would like ta study the prie! statement which. the Secretary-:Generàl has. just made to th~ c:ourrcil, .and ta havefurther consultations, sa may I propose that we, adjo~rn and méet tomorrow, in the IIlornülg or in tp,e afternoon, as th~ members would prefer•. In that, l am in the hands of the Courrcil, but
There is a suggestion that the next meeting should be tomorrow morning, at 10.30, 1 suppose. If 1 do not hear any objections, the next meeting will be held tomorrow at 10.30 a.m.
It was so decided.
The meeting rose at 4.45 p.m.
