I am afraid that we shaIl again have to adjourn inconclusively. I have on my list of speakers the representatives of the Netherlands, China, Colombia, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and I shall allow myself to make ,a few short observations in my capacity as representative of the United Kingdom. I said at the two hundred and fourteenth meeting, as the members of the Council will remember, that I proposed to close the list of speakers at the end of this sitting. Therefore, unless any representative now wishes to 'add his name to that list, the list will be as I have indicated: the Netherlands, China, Colombia, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the United Kingdom. Of course, if an amendment is presented to the United States draft, or any other draft, and if a discussion of a particular text arises, obviously, all members of the Council will be free to intervene. From what the President said at the beginning of the meeting, I understand that we are to speak now on the report of the Consular Commission and on the resolutions that have been tabled. I understand from that if the representatives so choose, they may speak on any or all of the res0lutions, without necessarily speaking again when any particular resolutions are put to a vote. Is that understanding correct?

I must leave that to the good sense of the members of the Council. All I meant was that up to now we have been engaged, as I saw it-and I think the members of the Council will agree with me-in a general discussion. One could not exclude from the general discussion either the general aspects of the question or the report of the Consular Commission or, if a member of the Council so desired, comments on resolutions that have already been submitted and are before the Council. That is all I meant. Unless anyone raises any objection, I propose at our next meeting to call upon the speakers in the following order: Netherlands, China, Colombia, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and Braziland I may add some remarks in my capacity as representative of the United Kingdom. Thereafter, we ~hall take the resolutions in their proper order and they will be put to the vote as soon as possible. That is agreed. ",Ve now have to decide the date and time of our next meeting. I am informed that tomorrow it will be difficult to hold a meeting because there will be meetings of the First Committee of the General Assembly morning and afternoon. On Friday it is contemplated to hold meetings of the General Assembly both morning and afternoon. I would suggest that we might meet on Friday morning. I know that some members of the Security Council may think it inconvenient for the Council to meet while the General Assembly is in plenary session, since it might be that their presence is required in the Assembly hall. To meet that, we could, if it is thought useful, hold our sitting at Flushing so that if anything arises in the plenary meeting of the Assembly requiring the presence of a member of the Council, we could suspend our sitting and accommodate him in that way. Therefore, I propose we meet on Friday morning at Flushing, with the understanding that, if necessary, we could continue our discussion in the afternoon, in order to reach a conclusion on this question on Friday. As that is agreeable to the members of the Council, I suggest 10.30 a.m. on F,riday at Flushing. Flushing, de sorte que si, pour quelque raison, la presence d'un membre du Conseil est requise a la: seance pleiliere de l'Ass,emblee generale, nous puissions suspendrenotre seance, pour lui faciliter les choses.. . Je propose done que nous nous reunissions vendredi matin a Flushing, etant entendu qu'en cas de besoin nous pourrions continuer notre discussion l'apres-midi afin d'arriver le jour meme a une conclusion sur cette question.
