The Council is meeting today in response to the letter dated 31 March 1982 addressed to the President of the Security Council by the President of the Republic of Kenya, the current Chairman of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), circulated as document S/1.5012, and the letter annexed thereto dated 18 March 1982 from the President of the Republic of Chad addressed to the President of the Council. P/*c.sc>nr: The representatives of the following States: China, France, Guyana, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Panama, Poland. Spain, Togo, Uganda, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Zaire. Provisional agenda (S/Agenda/2358) 1. Adoption of the agenda 2. Council members have before them document S/15013, which contains the text of a draft resolution drawn up during Council consultations. I should also like to draw Council members’ attention to document S/l.501 1, which contains the text of a letter dated 2 December 1981 addressed to the President of the Security Council by the President of the Republic of Kenya, the current Chairman of the OAU. 2. Letter dated 31 March 1982 from the President 0% the Republic of Kenya lo the President of the Security Council enclosing the letter dated 18 March 1982 from the President of the Republic of Chad to the President of the Security Council (S/15012) 3. I understand that the Council is ready to adopt the draft resolution before it by consensus. Unless I hear any objection I shall take it that it is so decided. Adoption of the agenda 4. I declare the draft resolution contained in document S/15013 adopted by consensus as resolution 504 (1982).
