S/PV.3031 Security Council

The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Security Cuuncil is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them document S/23421, which contains the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Observer Group in Central America, Members of the Council also have before them document S/23427, which contains the text of a draft resolution prepared in the course of the Council's consultations. It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution before it. If I hear no objection, I shall put the draft resolution (S/23427) to the vote now.
