As this is the first meeting of the Security Council for the month of June, I should like to take this opportunity to pay a tribute, on behalf of the Council, to His Excellency Mr. Peter Hohenfelliner, Permanent Representative of Austria to the United Nations, for his service as President of the Security Council for the month of May. I am sure I speak for all members of the Security Council in expressing ‘deep appreciation to Ambassador Hohenfellner for the great diplomatic skill and unfailing courtesy with which he conducted the Council's business last month. ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA The agenda was adopted. REPORT OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL PURSUANT TO SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 757 (1992) (S/24075 and Add.1)

The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Security Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them the report of the Secretary-General pursuant to Security Council resolution 757 (1992), contained in documents $/24075 and Add.1. (The President) Members of the Council have before them document S/24078, which contains the text of a draft resolution prepared in the course of the Council's consultations. I should like to draw the attention of members of the Council to documents §/24073 and 5/24074, respectively, containing letters dated 5 June 1992 from the Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of Yugoslavia to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General. It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution before it. Unless I hear any objection, I shall now put the draft resolution to the vote. There being no objection, it is so decided. A_vote was taken by show of hands. In favour: Austria, Belgium, Cape Verde, China, Ecuador, France, Hungary, India, Japan, Morocco, Russian Federation, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Venezuela, Zimbabwe Ehe PRESIDENT: There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has therefore been adopted unanimously as resolution 758 (1992). The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on the agenda.
