The PRESIDENT (interpretation from Spanish): I should like to inform the Council that I have received a letter from the representative of Croatia in which he requests to be invited to participate in the discussion of the item on the Council's agenda. In accordance with the usual practice, I propose, with the consent of the Council, to invite that representative to participate in the discussion without the right to vote, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Charter and rule 37 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure. There being no objection, it is so decided. At the invitation of the President, Mr. Nobilo (Croatia) took a place at the Council table.

The PRESIDENT (interpretation from Spanish): The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Security Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them the report of the Secretary-General pursuant to Security Council resolution 815 (1993), documents 8/25777 and Corr. 1 and Add.1; and the further report of the Secretary-General pursuant to Security Council resolution 815 (1993), document 8/25993. Members of the Council also have before them document S/26014, which contains the text of a draft resolution prepared in the course of the Council's prior consultations. I should like to draw the attention of the members of the Council to documents 8/25973 and $/26002, letters dated 18 and 25 June 1993, respectively, from the Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General. Members of the Council have received photocopies of a letter dated 30 June 1993 from the Permanent Representative of Hungary to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council, to be issued as document S/26017. It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution before it. Unless I hear any objection, I shall now put the draft resolution (S/26014) to the vote. There being no objection, it is so decided. A vote was taken by show of hands. In favour: Brazil, Cape Verde, China, Djibouti, France, Hungary, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Venezuela
