S/PV.3495 Security Council

Monday, Jan. 30, 1995 — Session 50, Meeting 3495 — New York — UN Document ↗

Adoption of the agenda

The agenda was adopted.

The situation in the Middle East Report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) (S/1995/66)

The Security Council will now resume its consideration of the item on the agenda. The Security Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon for the period from 21 July 1994 to 20 January 1995, document S/1995/66. Members of the Council have before them document S/1995/81, which contains the text of a draft resolution prepared in the course of the Council’s prior consultations. I should like to draw the attention of the members of the Council to the following other documents: S/1995/45 and, in English only, S/1995/45/Corr.1, letter dated 16 January 1995 from the Permanent Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary- General; and S/1995/58, letter dated 18 January 1995 from the Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General. It is my understanding that the Security Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution (S/1995/81) before it. If I hear no objection, I shall put the draft resolution to the vote now. There being no objection, it is so decided.
A vote was taken by show of hands.
The meeting rose at 10.40 a.m.
