Adoption of the agenda

The agenda was adopted.
The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Security Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations oeration in Cyprus, documents S/1997/962 and addendum 1, and the report of the Secretary-General on his mission of good offices in Cyprus, document S/1997/973. If I hear no objection, I shall put the draft resolution to the vote now. There being no objection, it is so decided.
A vote was taken by show of hands.
There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 1146 (1997). The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda.
