S/PV.4006 Security Council

Wednesday, May 19, 1999 — Session 54, Meeting 4006 — New York — UN Document ↗

Adoption of the agenda

The agenda was adopted.
The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Security Council is meeting in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations. Members of the Council have before them a letter dated 17 May 1999 from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council, document S/1999/566. It is my understanding that the Security Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution before it. If I hear no objection, I shall now put the draft resolution to the vote. There being no objection, it is so decided.
A vote was taken by show of hands.
There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 1241 (1999). The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda.
The meeting rose at 1.40 p.m.
