1 have to announce that the candidate elected by the Security Council did not obtain a majority in the General Assembly. We shall therefore have to hold another election.

Having obtained the required majority, Mr. Wellington Koo (China) was elected by the Security Couneil. Mr. Shigeru Kuriyama (Japan) received 4 votes.
