1 have to announce that the candidate elected by the Security Council did not obtain a majority in the General Assembly. We shall therefore have to hold another election.

Having obtained the required majority, Mr. Wellington Koo (China) was elected by the Security Couneil. Mr. Shigeru Kuriyama (Japan) received 4 votes. 3. 1 shall report the result of this eleetion to the General Assembly at oncf' 4. 1 would ask the members of the Couneil to wait until we get the result of the election in the Assembly.
