1 must confess 1 was at first surprised to hear the kind remarks of my Polish colleague in which he expressed to me, on behaH of ms colleagues, thanks for my presidency over the Security Council. 1 was surprised, because the task has been an cxtremely light one, as he has admitted himself. 1 have only presided over two or three meetings and our business has been extœmely short. He referred to the fact that under my chairmanship there had been unanimity amongst the Council. This, of course, lays on me the obligation to thank my colleagues; there is no obligation on him to thank me. 1 .:an only express the hope that 1 may pass on to my successor a similar .mood of unanimity and that under his chairmanship, we shall be able to achieve useful and beneficial results.
