May I take it that it is the wish of the General Assembly to conclude its consideration of agenda item 109?

The General Assembly will now consider the reports of the Fifth Committee on agenda items 116, 118, 122 (a) and (b), 123, 124 (a), 125, 128, 131 to 137, 138 (a), 149, 159, 160 and 167 to 169. I request the Rapporteur of the Fifth Committee to introduce the reports of the Fifth Committee in one intervention.

If there is no proposal under rule 66 of the rules of procedure, I shall take it that the General Assembly decides not to discuss the reports of the Fifth Committee that are before it today.

Statements will therefore be limited to explanations of vote. The positions of delegations regarding the recommendations of the Fifth Committee have been made clear in the Committee and are reflected in the relevant official records. The Assembly will now take a decision on the four draft resolutions recommended by the Fifth Committee in paragraph 12 of Part IV of its report. Draft resolution I, entitled “Commission of Inquiry in Rwanda”, was adopted by the Fifth Committee without a vote. May I take it that the Assembly wishes to do the same?

Draft resolution II is entitled “Progress report on the programme budget for the biennium 1996-1997”. The draft resolution was adopted by the Fifth Committee without a vote. May I take it that the Assembly wishes to do the same?
