First of all, I would like to congratulate the Assembly on its adoption of resolution 69/293, on the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict. Let me also commend and thank Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Mrs. María Cristina Perceval, Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations, for spearheading today’s resolution.
