I have the honour to speak on behalf of the European Union on resolution 70/19, entitled “Promotion of interreligious and intercultural dialogue, understanding and cooperation for peace”. The European Union thanks the delegations of Pakistan and the Philippines for presenting the resolution, and acknowledges that its text has continued to improve over the years.

The United States firmly supports efforts to promote interreligious and intercultural dialogue and cooperation. We are pleased to have joined consensus on resolution 70/19. The representative of Israel has asked to speak in exercise of the right of reply. I remind him that statements in exercise of the right of reply are limited to ten minutes for the first intervention and five minutes for the second intervention and should be made by delegations from their seats.
