I would like to share a few thoughts on resolution 73/340, which the General Assembly has just adopted, and which is the result of arduous and extensive negotiations and proof of the importance that Member States attach to the effective fulfilment of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, adopted in 1995 by the Fourth World Conference on Women.
