Today we are here to discuss the culture of peace — what a grand phrase. The resolution that has been adopted (resolution 78/277) talks about preventing violent extremism and recalls resolutions on terrorism. It recognizes a number of big words, referring to “the prevention of conflicts”, “the peaceful settlement of disputes”, “peacekeeping”, “peacebuilding”, “mediation” and so on. It takes note…
