They strongly reiterate their condemnation of all acts of violence in the region, whatever their origin. Such acts of violence have already led to the loss of the lives of innocent civilians and those of United Nations personnel in the area and threaten to undermine the Middle East process, as well as the authority of the newly installed Government of Lebanon. Bearing this in mind. the Community and its member States appeal to tbe parties involved to retrain from any military actioas and to respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Lebanon, in accordance with Security Council resolution 425 (1978), which should be fully implemented.
