1. The application of Grenada for admission to the United Nations was considered at the 1777th meeting of the Security Council on 17 June 1974. In accordance with rule 59 of the provisional rules of procedure, the President of the Security Council referred the application to the Committee for examination and report.
2. At its 145th meeting, held on 19 June 1974, the Committee considered the application of Grenada and unanimously decided to recommend to the Security Council that it be admitted to membership in the United Nations.
3. Accordingly, the Committee decided to recommend the following draft resolution:
"The Security Council,
Having examined the application of Grenada for admission to the United Nations,
Recommends to the General Assembly that Grenada be admitted to membership in the United Nations."
