The Security Council,
Reaffirming its resolutions 242 (1967) of 22 November 1967, 338 (1973) of 22 October 1973, 1397 (2002) of 12 March 2002, 1402 (2002) of 30 March 2002, 1403 (2002) of 4 April 2002, 1405 (2002) of 19 April 2002 and the statement of its President on 10 April 2002 (S/PRST/2002/09),
Gravely concerned that its resolutions of 1402 (2002) and 1403 (2002) have not yet been fully implemented,
Welcoming the international efforts aiming at achieving the full implementation of the above‑mentioned resolutions,
Reiterating its welcoming of the initiative of the Secretary‑General and his appointment of the fact‑finding team, and taking note of the Secretary‑General’s letter dated 1 May 2002,
Expressing its serious concern that resolution 1405 (2002) has not yet been implemented and that the fact‑finding team has been obstructed by Israel, the occupying Power, from carrying out its mission,
Reiterating also its concern at the dire humanitarian situation of the Palestinian civilian population, including the shortage of essential materials such as food and medicine in several Palestinian cities, towns and refugee camps,
1. Demands the immediate completion of the implementation of its resolutions 1402 (2002) and 1403 (2002), including ending the Israeli military siege on the Church of the Nativity in the city of Bethlehem;
2. Demands that Israel, the occupying Power, and the Palestinian Authority cooperate fully with the fact‑finding team appointed by the Secretary‑General without any hindrances or conditions towards the immediate and full implementation of resolution 1405 (2002);
3. Requests the Secretary‑General to proceed with the dispatching of the fact‑finding team and keep the Council fully informed of developments in this regard;
4. Decides to remain actively seized of the matter.
