the application of the Republic of Namibia for admission had before it in the Security Council procedure of the United Nations. In accordance with rule 59 of the Security Council, the application to the Committee on the Admission of New Members was referred for examination and report. The Council unanimously decided to recommend to the General Assembly that the Republic of Namibia be admitted to membership in the United Nations. Accordingly, the Committee recommends to the Security Council the adoption of the following draft resolution:
The Security Council,
Having examined the application of the Republic of Namibia for admission to the United Nations (S/21241),
Recommends to the General Assembly that the Republic of Namibia be admitted to membership in the United Nations.
At the 8th meeting, the Committee decided to propose to the Security Council that it request the inclusion of an item entitled "Admission of new Members to the United Nations" of the supplementary list of items for special session in the General Assembly agenda of the eighteenth.
