The Security Council, Recalling its resolution 637 (1989) of 27 July 1989, 3030 September 1991, 729 Recalling also its (1992) resolutions 693 of 14 January 1992 and May (1991) of 20 784 1991, (1992) of 714 (1991) of October 1992 _ Having studied the report of the Secretary-General dated 23 November 1992 (S/24833 ana Add. 1) _ Noting with appreciation the continuing efforts of the Secretary-General to support Frente Farabundo 16 January 1992 several agreements signed between ana the 4 April 1990 implementation of the by the Government of El Salvador ana Marti para 1a Liberacion Nacional (FMLN) to re-establish peace and promote reconciliation in El Salvador, Noting the intention of the Secretary-General to continue, in this as in other peace-keeping operations, to monitor expenditures carefully during this period of increasing demands on peace-keeping resources _ 1 Approves the report of the Secretary-General; 2 Decides to extend the mandate of the United Nations Observer Missionana 729 (1992), in El Salvador (ONUSAL) as defined in resolutions 693 (1991) for a further period of six months ending on 31 May 1993; activities Welcomes the intention of the Secretary-General to adapt the future3andstrength of ONUSAL, taking into account progress made in implementing the peace process; faith the solemn both parties to respect scrupulously and to implement in good4Urges commitments they have exercise the utmost moderation and assumea under the agreements signed on 16 January 1992 at present City Mexico and following the conclusion of the cease-fire and to phase , in order to respect the new deadlines agreed upon by them for the conditions _ completion of the peace process and for successful especially in the zones of former conflict; restoration of normalthe Secretary-General in paragraph 84 of his report;5 _Shares, in this context, the offices in the El Salvador peace process ana Special Representative his gooa6Reaffirms its support for the Secretary-General S useboth parties to ONUSALof cooperate tasks of assisting and verifying the parties " in their fully with the Secretary-General S calls upon implementation of theirand commitments ; the fields Requests all States, finance , 7 of development and as well through voluntary contributions , the peace process; 8 _ Requests the Secretary-General to keep report, the expiry of developments in the El Salvador peace process ana to informed of further before as necessary, the new mandate period;on all aspects of ONUSAL S 9 _ Decides to remain seized of the matter.
