Resolution 229 (1966)
of 2 December 1966
The Security Council,
Conscious of the proven qualities and high sense
of duty of U Thant, and believing that his reappointment would be most conducive to the larger interests
and purposes of the Organization,
Recommends the appointment of U Thant for another
term of office as Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Adopted at the 1329th meeting (private meeting).
