In accordance with the decisions taken at previous meetings, I invite the representative of Morocco to take a place at the Council table and the representatives of Algeria, Benin, the Congo, Democratic Yemen, Madagascar, Mauritania and Zaire to take the places reserved for them at the side of the Council chamber.
At the invitation of the President, Mr. Filali (Morocco) took a place at the Council table and Mr. Bouayad-Agha (Algeria), Mr. Houngavou (Benin), Mr. Mondjo (Congo), Mr. Ashtal (Democratic Yemen), Mr. Rabetafika (Madagascar), Mr. Taya (Mauritania) and Mr. Buketi Bukayi (Zaire) took the places reserved for them at the side of the Council chamber.’
I wish to inform members of the Council that I have received letters from the representatives of Angola, Burundi, the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Sao Tome and Principe and Senegal in which they request to be invited to participate in the discussion of the question on the agenda. In accordance with the usual practice, I propose, with the consent of the Council, to invite those representatives to participate in the discussion without the right to vote, in conformity with the relevant provisions of the Charter and rule 37 of the provisional rules of procedure.
At the invitation of the President, Mr. de Figueiredo (Angola). Mr. Simbananiye (Burundi), Mr. Kikhia (Libyan Arab Jamahiriya), Mr. Barros (Sao Tome and Principe) and Mr. Fall (Senegal) took the places reservedfor them at the side of the Council chamber.
I wish to inform members of the Council that I have received a letter dated 25 June from the representative of Morocco which has been circulated as document S/13410. After consulting the members of the Council I take it that it is their view that the Council should adjourn further consideration of the question on its agenda.
The meeting rose at 5.20 p.m.
