- Credentials ofrepresentatives to the thirty-fourth session of the General Assembly: (a) Appointment of the members of the Credentials Committee IS. The TEMPORARY PRESIDENT (interpretation from Spanish): Rule 28 of the rules of procedure pro- vides that the General Assembly at the beginning of each session shall appoint, on the proposal ofthe Presi- dent, a Credentials Committee consisting of nine members. Accordingly, it is proposed that, for the thirty-fourth session, the Credentials Committee should consist of the following Member States: Belgium, China, Congo, Ecuador, Pakistan, Panama, Senegal, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, United States of America. May I take it that the countries I have mentioned are hereby appointed members of the Credentials Committee? 1 mtg
- Election of the President of the General Assembly 16. The TEMPORARY PRESIDENT (interpretation from Spanish): I now invite the Members ofthe General Assembly to proceed to the election of the President of the Assembly at its thirty-fourth session. 17. Under rule 92 of the rules of procedure, all elec- tions shall be held by secret ballot and there shall be no nominations . 18. However, after consultations with the regional groups, I should like to propose that, without setting a precedent, the Assembly agree to waive rule 92 in this particular election and that, on the basis ofthe endorse- ment of his candidacy by all regional groups, we pro- ceed to elect the President of the thirty-fourth session by acclamation. - Inadmissibility of the policy of hegemonlsm in international relations REPORT OF THE FIRST COMMITTEE (A/34/791) I. Mr. SUCHARIPA (Austria), Rapporteur of the First Committee (interpretation from French): I have the honour today of presenting to the General Assem- bly the reports of the First Committee concerning its work on agenda items 46, 122 and 126. NEW YORK 2. The report on agenda item 46, on the implementa- tion of the Declaration on the Strengthening of Inter- national Security, appears in document A/34/827. In paragraph 13ofthat report the Committee recommends to the General Assembly the adoption of three draft resolutions. Those three drafts deal, respectively, with the development and strengthening of good neigh- bourliness between States, the implementation of the Declaration on the Strengthening of International Security, and non-interference in the internal affairs of States. 3. The report on agenda item 122, dealing with the settlement by peaceful means of disputes between States, appaers in document A/34/790. In paragraph 7 of that report the Committee recommends to the Gen- eral Assembly the adoption of a draft resolution. 4. Finally, the report on agenda item 126, on the inad- missibility of the policy of hegernonisrn in international relations, appears in document A/34/791. In para- graph 1I of that report, the Committee recommends to the General Assembly the adoption of a draft resolution. Pursuant to rule 66 of the rules of procedure, it was decided not to discuss the reports of the First Committee. 1 mtg
