Under rule 37 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure, I invite the representatives of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Haiti, Paraguay, Peru, Spain and Uruguay to participate in this meeting. The Security Council will now begin its consideration of the item on its agenda. Members of the Council have before them document S/2012/743, which contains the text of a draft resolution submitted by Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, France, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, the United States of America and Uruguay. I wish to draw the attention of Council members to document S/2012/678, which contains the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti. It is my understanding that the Council is ready to proceed to the vote on the draft resolution before it.

There were 15 votes in favour. The draft resolution has been adopted unanimously as resolution 2070 (2012). The Security Council has thus concluded the present stage of its consideration of the item on its agenda. The Security Council will remain seized of the matter.
