ship in the United Nations
The General Assembly,
H aving received the recommendation of the Security
Council2 of 26 J uly 1956 that Morocco should be ad-
mitted to membership in the United Nations,
Having considered the application for membership
of Morocco,
Decides to admit Morocco to membership in the
United Nations.

United Nations.

N oting that paragraph 7 of section C of annex I
of the Statute authorizes the Preparatory Commission
of the Agency to enter into negotiations with the
United Nations with a view to the preparation of a
draft agreement governing the relationship between the
United Nations and the Agency, in accordance with
article XVI of the Statute,
Desiring to initiate negotiations with the Agency
with a view to bringing it into relationship with the
United Nations, as provided for in article XVI of the
Statute,
1. Authorizes the Advisory Committee on the Peace-
ful Uses of Atomic Energy, as established on the
basis of paragraph 5 of section B of General Assembly
resolution 810 (IX) of 4 December 1954, to negotiate
with the Preparatory Commission of the International
Atomic Energy Agency a draft relationship agreement
base.cl on the principles set forth in the study7 prepared
by the Secretary-General in consultation with the Ad-
visory Committee, pursuant to paragraph 5 of section
II of General Assembly resolution 912 (X) of 3 De-
cember 1955;
2. Requests the Advisory Committee to submit a
report on the negotiations, together with the draft
agreement resulting from these negotiations, to the
General Assembly, at the twelfth session, for its ap-
proval.

The General Assembly,
H aving considered the Agreement8 entered into on
19 December 1956 between the Economie and Social
Council and the International Bank for Reconstruction
and Development, acting for and on behalf of the Inter-
national Finance Corporation,. on relationship between
the United Nations and the International Finance Cor-
poration,
Approves this Agreement.

The General Assembly,
Recalling resolution 1109 (XI) of 15 February 1957
concerning the progress of the work of the eleventh
~ession and the closing date of the session,

H aving completed consideration of ail the items on
its agenda with the exception of items 66 and 67,
Decides, in accordance with rule 6 of the rules of
procedure, to adjourn its eleventh session temporarily
and to authorize the President, of the General Assembly,
in consultation with the Secretary-General and with
the Member States the representatives of which are
serving on the General Committee during the session,
to reconvene the General Assembly as necessary m
order to consider further items 66 or 67.

Resolution 1120 (XI)
The General Assembly,
Having received the report of the Secretary-Gen-
eral12 on compliance with General Assembly resolutions
997 (ES-I) and 1002 (ES-I) of 2 and 7 November
1956,
Recalling that its resolution 1002 (ES-I) called upon
Israel immediately to withdraw its forces behind the
demarcation line established by the General Armistice
Agreement between Egypt and Israel of 24 February
1949,13
Recalling further that the above-mentioned resolu-
tion also called upon France and the United Kingdom
of Great Britain and Northern Ireland immediately to
withdraw their forces from Egyptian territory, in con-
formity with previous resolutions,
1. Notes with regret that, according to the com-
munications received by the Secretary-General, 12 two-
thirds of the French forces remain, ail the United
Kingdom forces remain although it has been announced
that arrangements are being made for the withdrawal
of one battalion, and no Isreal forces have been with-
drawn behind the armistice line although a considerable
time has elapsed since the adoption of the relevant
General Assembly resolutions ;
2. Reiterates its call to France, Israel and the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ire-
land to comply forthwith with resolutions 997 (ES-I)
and 1002 (ES-I) of 2 and 7 Novemher 1956;
3. Requests the Secretary-General urgently to com-
municate the present resolution to the parties con-
cerned, and to report without delay to the General
Assembly on the implementation thereof.

in Egypt of the United Nations Emergency Force,

GeneraJfo on arrangements for clearing the Suez Canal,

mémoire ~n the bc1:sis for the presence and functioning
of the Umted Nat10ns Emergency Force in Egypt, as
annexed to the report of the Secretary-General ;14
2. Notes with approval the progress so far made
by the Secreta~y-General in connexion with arrange-
ments for clearing the Suez Canal, as set forth in his
report ;16
3. Authorizes the Secretary-General to proceed with
the. ~ploration of practical arrangements and the ne-
got1ahon of agreements so that the clearing operations
may be speedily and effectively undertaken.

Resolution 1122 (XI)
The General Assembly,
Having decided, in resolutions 1000 (ES-I) and
1001 (ES-I) of 5 and 7 November 1956, to establish
an emergency international United Nations Force
(hereafter to be known as the United Nations Emer-
gency Force) under a Chief of Command ( hereafter
to be known as the Commander),
H aving considered and provisionally approved the
reco~mendatjons ~ade by the Secretary-General con-
cernmg the tinancmg of the Force in paragraph 15 of
his report of 6 November 1956,16
