Resolutions adopted on the reporta oí the Fifth Committee 125 2889 (XXVI). Honorarium of the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions The General Assembly, Recalling its endorsement, at its 729th plenary meet- ing on 13 December 1957, of the recommendations made by the Fifth Committee regarding the amount of the honorarium to be paid to the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions,34 as well as its resolutions 2489 (XXIII) and 2491 (XXIII) of 21 December 1968 dealing with the payment of honoraria and of subsistence allowances to members of organs and subsidiary organs of the United Nations, Having considered the report of the Secretary-General on the honorarium of the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Ques- tions85 and the related report of the Advisory Com- mittee, 86 l. Decides that, with effect from 1 January 1972, the honorarium of the Chairman of the Advisory Com- mittee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions shall be $25.000 net per annum, provided he is not actively engaged on behalf of bis Government or another body; 2. Decides further that the provisions of paragraph 1 (b) of resolution 2491 (XXIII) shall not apply to the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Admin- istrative and Budgetary Questions if he is entitled to the honorarium by virtue of paragraph 1 above. 2031st plenary meeting, 2 2 December 1971. 2890 (XXVI). Extension of the Palais des Nations The General Assembly, Recalling its resolution 2488 (XXIII) of 21 Decem- ber 1968 on plans for the extension of conference facilities at the Palais des Nations at Geneva, Having considered the reports of the Secretary- General41 and of the Advisory Committee on Admin- istrative and Budgetary Questions42 on the extension of the Palais des N ations, 1. A uthorizes the Secretary-General to continue the construction project within the total new revised estimated cost of $US 31,186,000; 2.
