The Assembly has concluded its consideration of agenda item 72. The Assembly will next turn its attention to the report of the First Committee on agenda item 73, entitled "Implementation of the collective security provisions of the Charter of the united Nations for the maintenance of international peace and security" (A/40/l029). The Assembly will now take a decision on the draft resolution…

We have thus concluded our consideration of agenda item 73 and of all First Committee items. I wish to thank representati~es, the Chairman of the First Committee, the other officers of the Committee and the members of the Secretariat concerned for the effective way in which they have carried out their work, bringing it to a successful conclusion.
