Relationship between the United Nations and South Africa 7 The General Assembly, Recalling its resolutions 2636 A (XXV) of 13 No- vember 1970, 2862 (XXVI) of 20 December 1971 and 2948 (XXVII) of 8 December 1972 and its deci- sion of 5 October 1973,9 by which it decided to reject the credentials of South Africa, . RecalUng that South Africa did not heed any of the aforementioned decisions and has continued to prac- tise its policy of apartheid and racial discrimination against the majority of the population in South Africa, Reaffirming, once again, that the policy of apartheid and racial discrimination of the Government of South Africa is a flagrant violation of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the Universal Decla- ration of Human Rights, Noting the persistent refusal of South Africa to abandon its policy of apartheid and racial discrimina- tion in compliance with relevant resolutions and deci- sions of the General Assembly, Calls upon the Security Council to review the re~a- tionship between the United Natiom and South Afrtca in the light of the constant violation by South Africa of -the principles of the ·charter and the Universal Decla- ration of Human Rights. 2248th plenary meeting 30 September 1974 3208 (XXIX).
