80/7. Report of the International Atomic Energy Agency
The General Assembly,
Having received the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency for
2024,1
Taking note of the statement by the Director General of the Agency, in which he
provided additional information on the main developments in the activities of the
Agency during 2025,
Recognizing the importance of the work of the Agency,
Recognizing also the cooperation between the United Nations and the Agency
and the Agreement governing the relationship between the United Nations and the
Agency as approved by the General Conference of the Agency on 23 October 1957
and by the General Assembly in the annex to its resolution 1145 (XII) of 14 November
1957,

Takes note with appreciation of the report of the International Atomic
Energy Agency;

Takes note of resolutions GC(69)/RES/7, entitled “Nuclear and radiation
safety”; GC(69)/RES/8, entitled “Nuclear security”; GC(69)/RES/9, entitled
“Strengthening the Agency’s activities related to nuclear science, technology and
applications”, comprising GC(69)/RES/9 A.2, entitled “Support to the African Union’s
Pan African Tsetse and Trypanosomosis Eradication Campaign (AU‑PATTEC)”,
GC(69)/RES/9 A.3, entitled “Zoonotic Disease Integrated Action (ZODIAC) Project”,
and GC(69)/RES/9 B, entitled “Nuclear power applications”; GC(69)/RES/10, entitled
“Extending the Technical Cooperation Programme for the State of Palestine to the Gaza

of the Statute”; GC(69)/DEC/11, entitled “Promotion of efficiency and effectiveness
of the IAEA decision making process”, and GC(69)/DEC/12, entitled “Amendment to
Article VI of the Statute”, adopted by the General Conference of the Agency at its
sixty-ninth regular session, held from 15 to 19 September 2025;2 and of the statements
by the President of the General Conference with regard to the General Conference
agenda item 8 entitled “Election of Members to the Board of Governors”; 3 item 15
entitled “Strengthening of the Agency’s technical cooperation activities”; item 16
entitled “Strengthening the Agency’s activities related to nuclear science, technology
and applications”; and item 17 entitled “Strengthening the effectiveness and
improving the efficiency of Agency safeguards”, all as reflected in the official records
of the General Conference;
3.
Reaffirms its strong support for the indispensable role of the Agency in
encouraging and assisting the development and practical application of atomic energy
for peaceful uses, in technology transfer to developing countries and in nuclear safety,
verification and security;
4.
Appeals to Member States to continue to support the activities of the
Agency;
5.
Requests the Secretary-General to transmit to the Director General of the
Agency the records of the eightieth session of the General Assembly relating to the
activities of the Agency.
